Lecturer

In teaching at Cal Poly Humboldt, I have tried to focus on making the sciences approachable. My experience in graduate school and the research world made me realize that intimidating concepts could be broken down and understood if I possessed a strong understanding of fundamentals. As a teacher, I aim to prioritize the most applicable foundational concepts of whatever field we are discussing and demonstrate that they can be applied to complex questions.


My research work focused on biochar and its potential for reducing turfgrass irrigation requirements, but my end goal in conducting research was always to teach at the university level. I appreciate the regular opportunities to refine teaching methods and familiarize myself with new material that working at CPH affords me.
