About Marisa
Why did you choose this program?
I chose this program because I still wasn't exactly sure what exactly I wanted to focus on. This program seemed pretty broad and was able to give me a taste of everything - forestry, restoration, botany, GIS.
How did this program prepare you for your job?
The GIS, environmental impact and assessment, and environmental communications classes are classes I still think about and use in my day to day.
What did you enjoy most about the program?
The professors were amazing and excellent resources for help, career advice, and networking. I still keep in touch with my professors to this day and have even worked with a few in a professional manner.
What would you say to prospective students who are thinking about applying to this program?
If you're not sure where to focus, but you know you want to be in the environmental field, this is the program for you. It allowed me to explore a couple options and see if any of them sparked a passion.
