About Veronica

Why did you choose this program?

Ever since I was a child, I've had a healing connection with nature. As I grew up, I learned more and more about the negative impacts humanity has caused on Earth's natural systems. By Junior year of highschool I knew I wanted to pursue a career in Environmental Science to help heal the Earth.

How did this program prepare you for your job?

My degree program at (Humboldt State University) taught me everything I needed to know about ecological restoration and more. By the end of the program, I was equipped with not only scientific knowledge, but also hands-on experience in local ecosystems and a historic background of the area.

What would you say to prospective students who are thinking about applying to this program?

If you want to get dirty, handle plants, or design restoration projects, I highly suggest this program. As with any degree, if you know what you want out of it and plan appropriately, you will reap the most benefits.
