Ileene Guillen

Ileene Guillen is a Post-Baccalaureate student pursuing a Biochemistry degree. She has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Cal Poly Pomona that she received in 2023. Ileene is a career changer student that took premedical courses during her engineering degree. Before coming to Humboldt, she worked in Interior Design for more than two years. She set up spaces, chose fabric, executed painting projects, and supervised flooring construction. She currently volunteers at the local hospital to give back to the community and help those in need. She shadows in the Surgery Department working with health personnel such as doctors, nurses, surgical technicians, and more. During her time shadowing, she has seen many operations such as skin graft surgeries, vascular biopsies, and robot assisted procedures. Her joy is making a difference in the lives of others. She spends her free time reading, exercising, and traveling. She hopes to become a Pediatric surgeon and looks forward to reaching her dream.
