Living both inside and outside of the United States has taught me about health disparities involved with race, socioeconomic status, and the environment. As a Biology major, I want to be able to serve communities through medicine. I spent a bit of time in medical facilities briefly observing surgical practices, providing vaccines for pets and shadowing in a clinic. Keeping an open mind, I can’t wait to explore the specialties I have yet to discover. This medical internship program has paved the pathway for me to learn more about the skills, experience, and heart it takes to become a medical professional. I am beyond grateful for this opportunity.
