Cerberus Patterson

Community Placement & Practicum Education Associate Coordinator

Cerberus Patterson, BASW (they/them/theirs, ey/em/eirs) is a settler, and a Filipino-American/Celtic, disabled, Trans/Queer individual that continually uses their lived experiences in combination with resilience skills, compassion, and their lateral privileges to better serve their community. Since graduating with a BASW from Cal Poly Humboldt in 2022, Cerberus has been working in local advocacy and supporting their community through education and community engagement roles. They began this position in October 2026.

Cerberus is a devoted community member who has spent nearly a decade on the unceded land of the Karuk, Hupa, Tolowa, Wiyot and Yurok Tribes growing, playing, and tending relationships with the land and the people who inhabit it. Ey deeply value clear communication and they offer grace in their connections, meeting folks where they are and centering compassion, understanding, and respectful boundaries. Cerberus is passionate about disability justice, racial justice, queer liberation, recovery and harm reduction, cultural and environmental restoration, youth empowerment and body liberation for all.

Their intention is to support their community in dreaming, building, and tending brighter futures for us all, with a priority focus on supporting students and their placement organizations in their growth and in accessing/maintaining an affirming learning environment. They hope to assist students in accessing equitable education, support, and systems while empowering students to be authentic and to seek spaces that nurture and affirm their truest selves.
