Jovonne Dempster, MSW, LCSW

Jovonne Dempster, MSW, LCSW is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Lecturer in the Cal Poly Humboldt Department of Social Work. With over 12 years of experience in child welfare, adult protective services, school social work, and community program development, she brings a culturally responsive and equity-driven perspective to her teaching. Grounded in Relational-Cultural Theory, Jovonne prepares students to serve rural and Indigenous communities with compassion, cultural humility, and professional excellence. She also shares her expertise as a public speaker and finds her greatest joy in dancing and spending meaningful time with her family.
