Serenity Bowen

Lecturer

Serenity Bowen is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master of Social Welfare from U.C. Berkeley. She has been active in the field of social work for over 30 years with an emphasis in Clinical Practice with Indigenous and LGBTQ communities, and Children and Family Services. Her work in the field includes mental health and counseling, child welfare, child abuse and sexual assault prevention, crisis intervention, advocacy and education, indigenous psychology, school-based counseling, family mediation, harm reduction services, and street outreach. She has served in various county and non-profit youth and family services agencies in Humboldt County and the San Francisco Bay Area and is
committed to the well-being and healing of at-risk youth affected by trauma and abuse. In addition to serving as a lecturer in Cal Poly Humboldt's Social Work and Native American Studies Departments, Serenity works directly as a Clinical Therapist in private practice.
