Ticket FAQs

Artists & Schools Series

The Artists & Schools program was created in 1985 to serve young people throughout Humboldt County and beyond. It offers elementary, junior high, and high school students the opportunity to attend professional performing arts events on the Cal Poly Humboldt campus.

Limited to Humboldt County educators and schools, orders must be placed through our website and paid for using a credit card. We no longer take reservations. You must be signed in to your account and granted access to purchase tickets.

Parking

We recommend parking off campus and walking to the venue, as parking is extremely limited on campus. However:

If you are riding a bus - you can be dropped off on Laurel Drive by the Van Duzer Theatre. We ask that the bus is parked off campus during the show. We recommend the Arcata Community Center, Toni's or the raised parking lot in Valley West.

If you plan to bring a car or van - you can purchase a daily parking permit for $3.50 at a parking permit dispenser at general lots with a credit card, the parking kiosk on Rossow Street with cash or card, or the Passport app located near parking stalls. The permit must be displayed on the dashboard of the vehicle. In addition, you can use the parking meters on Rossow and B Streets for $.75 per hour. Short-term meters are also on Mill Street, Plaza Avenue, Harpst Street, and in the Library Lot.

ADA parking stalls are located around campus, to provide access for individuals possessing a disabled person placard or license plates and a purchased daily permit. You can visit Cal Poly Humboldt’s Visitor Parking to view a map of ADA Parking Stalls and Access.

Exchanges

While exchanges are not guaranteed, you may request one in cases of extenuating circumstances by emailing ticket@humboldt.edu at least 30 days prior to the performance.

Refunds

While refunds are not guaranteed, you may request one in cases of extenuating circumstances by emailing ticket@humboldt.edu at least 30 days prior to the performance.

Accessibility Seating

Wheelchair accessible seating is provided for all shows and can be reserved through in-person visits, or phone orders. This seating ensures that patrons can enjoy the performance while remaining in the comfort of their own wheelchairs. Furthermore, we offer several transfer-accessible aisle seats for guests who use wheelchairs and prefer to sit in a standard theatre seat.

If you require assistance in making these arrangements, please don't hesitate to reach out to the University Ticket Office at 707.826.3928 or email ticket@humboldt.edu.

Animals

In accordance with campus policy, there are NO animals, with the exception of service animals (not therapy or comfort animals), allowed at or in Cal Poly Humboldt events or facilities.

Service animals are welcomed at all campus venues. Service animals are those that fall under the categories defined in Titles II and III of the ADA and are individually trained to perform tasks directly related to a person's disability. It's important to note that animals whose primary role is to provide comfort or emotional support no longer meet the criteria for service animals as per the ADA. For additional information, please visit www.ada.gov.

Bag Policy

At this time, clear bags are not required, but this policy is subject to change.

Cancelled Events

In the event of a performance cancellation, the University Ticket Office will issue a refund. If you used a credit card or debit card for the ticket purchase, the refund will be automatically credited back to the original card. For payments made by check, cash, account credit, or any split-tender method, the refund will be processed by check from the University, and this process may take up to five weeks.

For additional questions or concerns, please email ticket@humboldt.edu or call 707.826.3928.

Children

Our events are generally open to all ages, but please note that every attendee, regardless of age, will require a ticket for entry. We want to ensure a positive experience for all patrons, so if your child is unable to sit quietly for extended periods of time, we recommend making alternative arrangements. Additionally, be aware that some performances may not be suitable for children.

Certain events may have age restrictions, such as being limited to those 18 and older or current Cal Poly Humboldt students. Any such restrictions will be clearly outlined on the event page. If you have any uncertainties or need clarification, feel free to contact us at 707.826.3928.

How early should I arrive at an event?

To enhance your event experience, we suggest arriving 30-45 minutes before the scheduled start time. This window allows ample time for parking, whether on campus or in downtown Eureka, depending on the venue. Given that parking can be challenging, please plan accordingly to ensure you don't miss any part of the performance.

Late Seating

We recommend arriving at least 30-45 minutes before the scheduled start time. To respect both performers and fellow patrons, late arrivals may be seated only during intermission or appropriate breaks in the performance. In some instances, latecomers may be directed to seating in the balcony. Please be aware that performance times and locations may vary, so carefully review the details on your tickets. Your punctuality ensures a smoother and more enjoyable experience for everyone.

Lost and Found

If you have lost items, please contact the University Ticket Office at 707.826.3928 or email ticket@humboldt.edu for assistance. High-profile items, such as wallets, purses, cell phones, keys, credit cards/debit cards, jewelry, or Humboldt IDs found at a performance, will be transferred to the University Police Department on the first floor of the Student Business Services Building after the event. This will enable you to retrieve your misplaced items outside of our regular business hours.

I lost my ticket, what do I do?

Contact the University Ticket Office or drop by the venue before the event, and we'll gladly issue you a new ticket.

The University Ticket Office will provide replacements for physical tickets exclusively to the original purchaser. Kindly bring a form of identification to verify your status as the purchaser. For online orders, we will reissue e-tickets exclusively to the email linked to the purchase.

Third Party Ticketing Websites (scalper Sites)

When you buy tickets through the University Ticket Office, you are making a direct purchase from California State University, Cal Poly Humboldt's official ticketing outlet for Cal Poly Humboldt Presents Performances, Cal Poly Humboldt Athletics, and the Department of Dance, Music & Theatre. This guarantees the authenticity of your tickets and ensures that you won't be charged excessive prices and that you will have a valid ticket.

Exercise caution when dealing with third-party scalper websites that manipulate and inflate ticket prices. Do not automatically assume that the top result in a Google search is accurate. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to us before finalizing your purchase. Our team is available to assist you.

Please note that if you acquire tickets through one of these websites, we are unable to assist you in case of non-delivery, ticket invalidity, or event cancellation.
