Alison Palacios

Originally from the Bay Area, I attended UC Davis for my undergraduate degree in Biologic Anthropology, minoring in Spanish. Through community outreach work I developed a passion for health communication and care for the Latinx community. After a year working in San Francisco and greater Bay Area as an EMT, I began medical school at Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Vallejo, CA. Continuing my path in Family Medicine for underserved populations, I completed my residency at Natividad Medical Center in Salinas, CA. A fortunate recipient of the National Health Service Corps scholarship, I chose to bring my skills to Humboldt county, serving the communities of Willow Creek and Arcata for over 10 years. Through the experience I gained in general Family Practice, I honed my purpose to provide much needed medical care and education to young adults. My goals at Cal Poly Humboldt include providing our students with a basecamp of general health knowledge, strategic support when needed, and the tools to climb the highest peaks in life. I am excited to pay forward all the love and support I received in my career path and work with such highly motivated, accomplished and intelligent folx such as those here at Cal Poly Humboldt!
