Black Student Union (RSOs)

The primary purpose of our organization is to build a bridge for the growth and appreciation of African-American culture. We wish to create a thriving atmosphere to serve this purpose by promoting academic, social, and political welfare, and a safe space that promotes individual self-expression relative to the challenges Black students face within the Black community at Humboldt State University. Secondly, we wish to become an umbrella group for the many organizations focused on people of color, specifically African-Americans. We encourage our members to participate in diverse organizations, and BSU exists as the bridge for our fellow students. Thirdly, we aim to generate individual, socioeconomic, and ethnic awareness as a meaningful supplement to a well-rounded education. Most importantly, the Black Student Union serves as the voice for the African-American community at Humboldt State University.
