CNRS Core Research Facility

Welcome to the College of Natural Resources and Sciences Core Research Facility (CNRS Core Research Facility, CNRS Core). We’re happy that you have chosen to explore our web site in hopes of expanding your scientific training and research experience. The CNRS Core Facility and its staff are a resource providing training and experimental research experience as well as insight and advice to help one achieve their research project goals. The CNRS Core is a research lab, therefore specific safety requirements need to be met in order to maintain a safe working environment for all users and staff. These criteria may be different than other labs, therefore please feel free to ask any questions of the Staff in the CNRS Core at any time if clarification is needed (Core Coordinator, Liz Faidley, can be reached at eaf67@humboldt.edu).

The CNRS Core provides a shared/community scientific laboratory workspace that offers specialized equipment and instrumentation as well as limited reservable bench spaces for training and research projects. CNRS Core resources are maintained through the CNRS and University for use by faculty or students working on faculty sponsored research projects which may originate through a class or a grant. The CNRS Core is a community workspace; however, access must be obtained from the CNRS Core Research Facility Coordinator (eaf67@humboldt.edu) prior to performing any work requiring keycard access. The hours work may be performed in the CNRS Core are between 9 am and 5 pm Monday through Friday, with exceptions made for research that cannot feasibly be completed during business hours.

Do you have questions about what you can do in the core? Do you have research ideas to talk through? Methodology questions?

Biology Stockroom Information

The Biology Stockroom (232 Science B) is managed by Susan Wright (susan.wright@humboldt.edu) providing excellent support services to Biology students including laboratory equipment, chemicals, and supplies for classes and projects. It also offers support with building and room issues, classroom and office computer and projector equipment, assistance with grant funded purchases, and a central hazardous waste disposal location for the biology department.
