Maria Castillo

Hi everyone! My name is Maria, and I’m originally from Orange County. I moved to Humboldt in 2017, where I earned my bachelor’s degree in Psychology.

I’m currently in my third year of the Counseling Psychology master’s program. My passion for counseling grew during my time as a RAMP mentor, where I helped freshman students navigate the challenges of college life. Fun fact: I initially started as a chemistry major, but after receiving my first C, I realized it wasn’t the right path for me. The journey to where I am now hasn’t been easy, but it’s made me even more passionate about supporting students on their mental health journeys. My goal is to create a safe and welcoming space for all students. Mental health is so important!
