DHSI Education Grant
The Grant
In 2018, Cal Poly Humboldt’s School of Education was awarded a $2.7 million grant by the U.S. Department of Education’s Developing Hispanic Serving Institutions Program. The DHSI Grant intends to increase Cal Poly Humboldt’s capacity as a Hispanic-Serving Institution by centralizing the knowledge, experience, and goals of BIPOC and low-income students. Additionally, in 2023 Humboldt Received a $2.8 Million Grant to Increase Retention and Graduation Rates for Underserved Students. Read the story!
Project Goals
- The academic success (achievement, retention and graduation) of Hispanic and low-income students
- The number of culturally responsive, diverse teaching credential candidates.
- Building Cal Poly Humboldt’s capacity to train, model, and support educators who emphasize culturally sustainable pedagogies in and beyond the classroom
