DHSI Education Grant

The Grant

In 2018, Cal Poly Humboldt’s School of Education was awarded a $2.7 million grant by the U.S. Department of Education’s Developing Hispanic Serving Institutions Program. The DHSI Grant intends to increase Cal Poly Humboldt’s capacity as a Hispanic-Serving Institution by centralizing the knowledge, experience, and goals of BIPOC and low-income students. Additionally, in 2023 Humboldt Received a $2.8 Million Grant to Increase Retention and Graduation Rates for Underserved Students. Read the story!

 

Project Goals

  1. The academic success (achievement, retention and graduation) of Hispanic and low-income students
  2. The number of culturally responsive, diverse teaching credential candidates.
  3. Building Cal Poly Humboldt’s capacity to train, model, and support educators who emphasize culturally sustainable pedagogies in and beyond the classroom
