Job description: – Inspecting safety issues on site in order to develop solutions, such as machine guarding
– Solving environmental issues associated with manufacturing processes
– Providing detailed manifests regarding the transportation and storage of hazardous waste
– Ensuring environmental compliance for haz waste, air, and waste discharge by state
– Proposing environmental health projects and energy efficiency projects
– Development of waste management plans for GE facilities
– Hazardous waste, shipping and handling training (RCRA, Hazmat, DOT)
– Assistance with Occupational Health and Safety (OSHA) certifications
– Travel for training to enhance leadership skills (Maine, Florida, New York, North Carolina) A lot of traveling!

Persevere. Accomplishments that are worthwhile often take time. If it was easy, everyone would do it. It’s not a race, get the most you can out of every day. Get involved with department extracurricular activities, you will meet people with similar interests and enjoy yourself more!
