Job description: I have over 25 years of experience in civil and environmental engineering with an emphasis in water and wastewater project and construction management. I have managed the design and construction of municipal utility district infrastructure rehabilitation and replacement projects for over 15-years including raw water conveyance; water treatment plant, pumping plant, storage, and distribution; wastewater collection, treatment, disposal, and reuse; solids handling and biosolids reuse; biogas cogeneration; process and control strategy development; utilities; mechanical; power, electrical, instrumentation, controls, and SCADA. She is currently responsible for business development in Northern California and construction management for the upcoming SFPUC Biosolids Digester Facilities Project.

Why did you choose this program?

I am a first generation college graduate. I didn't know anything about Engineering, but I knew I loved math and I wanted to contribute to protecting the environment - so I chose the HSU ERE program.

How did this program prepare you for your job?

The HSU ERE program is hands above the rest because it taught me to work collaboratively with my peers. In the real world, collaboration adds more value than competition.

What did you enjoy most about the program?

I enjoyed the comradery of my peers and authenticity of my professors!

What would you say to prospective students who are thinking about applying to this program?

Life is short! If you want to make a difference and you are passionate about the environment and social issues, the HSU ERE program is for you.
