Our Mission, Goals, & Objectives

Our Mission: 

We build community capacity to ensure all underserved students have the tools, knowledge, and opportunities to pursue their dreams. Together, we are dismantling barriers that contribute to educational inequities, resulting in increased college enrollment and completion rates to create a future where all students are empowered and equipped to succeed in a globally diverse society. 

Goals: 

1. Increase the academic performance and preparation for postsecondary education of participating students

2. Increase the rate of high school graduation and participation in postsecondary education

3. Educate students and their families about higher education options, preparation, and financing for success in postsecondary education

4. Increase the percentage of GEAR UP students who are enrolled at institutes of higher education

5. Increase persistence to the second year of postsecondary education

Objectives:

Five Objectives for GEAR UP: 
1. Increase the academic performance and preparation for postsecondary education of participating students. 

2. Increase the rate of high school graduation and participation in postsecondary education of participating students.

3. Increase GEAR UP students' and their families' knowledge of postsecondary education options, preparation, and financing.

4. Increase GEAR UP students and former GEAR UP students who are enrolled at an institute of higher education.

5. Increase persistence to the second year of postsecondary education.
