Green Workplace Assessment Education/Outreach, Consultation to campus partners

The Green Workplace Assessment (GWA) is a project that performs sustainability audits on the academic departments at Cal Poly Humboldt. Participating staff and faculty members are responsible for conducting an audit of their department's sustainability practices and relaying that information to Green Campus via surveys. These surveys examine the sustainable knowledge and practices of all department members, asks general questions regarding office-wide metrics such as “how many shared printers are in the workplace?”, and explores the purchasing practices of the department. The GWA has two main subsections: Employee Peer-Peer education, and Social/Environmental Justice.

The Sustainability Employee Educator Development Strategies (SEEDS) Program is a subsection of the GWA that focuses on cultivating a cohort of employee peer educators who serve as leaders and point people for their area of campus on sustainability issues. Participants foster improvement and change within their peer group on sustainability topics ranging from issues of waste, energy, transportation, purchasing, water, and environmental justice, among others.
