2) Title IX Organizing Meeting, Nov. 11
The Humboldt Chapter of the California Faculty Association invites faculty, staff, and students to an organizing meeting about Title IX and Title IX-related issues on our campus. The first half of the meeting will focus on hearing from Eileen Barrett, Prof. of English, Cal State East Bay, who met recently with Cozen O’Connor, the law firm investigating the CSU Systemwide Handling of Title IX Cases. Eileen has been working on issues of sexual, racial, and other forms of harassment for 30 years. She co-wrote with Luz Calvo CSU East Bay’s "Ten Point Plan: Creating a Campus Free from Harassment" and drafted the resolution 21-22 BEC 8: Resolution Calling for Legislative Investigation into CSU Systemwide Handling of Title IX Cases that was passed by the Senate. 8) Global Connections ClubGCC provides a welcoming environment for both domestic and International students to hang out, make friends, share their culture, and expand their knowledge to other cultures. Meetings for this Fall 2022 semester are Thursdays from 5-6 p.m. at the Social Justice, Equity, and Inclusion Center (Balabanis House). Our activities in the meetings could be language exchanges, movie nights, and playing cards using languages. Potential events planned for next semester are fashion shows, music nights and so on!
