Let’s Talk about the Middle East, March 22. Free film showing As I Open My Eyes and discussion led by Dr. Leena Dallasheh at the Richard’s Goat Miniplex (401 I Street, Arcata). Thursday, March 22, 7 p.m. Set in Tunisia in 2010, on the eve of the Jasmine Revolution, this film follows the 18-years-old Farah. Despite her parents plans, and government oppression, she joins a political band as a singer. A coming-of-age story that also brings the political ferment in Tunisia at the tail-end of a 30-year dictatorship.
