Learning Lab Series: Intro to AI

This session introduces participants to artificial intelligence and generative AI, focusing on how these technologies are already shaping everyday life and work in higher education. Through short videos and guided reflection, participants will explore what AI is, how generative AI differs from traditional tools, and why understanding AI now is critical—not just for the future, but for today’s work and learning environments .
Learning Outcomes / Objectives
- By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Recognize common ways AI is already embedded in daily work and personal life
- Describe, at a high level, what generative AI is and what it can create
- Reflect on how increased awareness of AI changes their perspective on its use in higher education

- Beginner / Starting level
- Designed for faculty, staff, and administrators with little to no prior experience with AI

- Short video clips
- Facilitated large-group reflection
- Small-group or breakout discussions using guided prompts
