Student For A Day

Want to experience what it’s like to be a student for the day at Cal Poly Humboldt? This would be the perfect opportunity! 

Sit in on some classes, eat lunch in the J, take a campus tour, and more!

Registration will open on Monday, January 5, 2026.

Once registration is open, you will register through your Applicant Status Page!

This opportunity is exclusively available to first-year and transfer students who have applied for Fall 2026.

What is Student For A Day?

Student For A Day is an all-day event where applied students can sit in on two classes, eat lunch at the J, and more!

You will be assigned classes based on your declared major or general areas of interest using Major Academic Plans (MAPS), which outline your major and general education requirements. This means your schedule will be tailored specifically to you!

Act fast, as there are limited spots available in certain classes!

Welcoming Remarks and Classroom Expectations

After check-in, your day will begin with welcoming remarks from the Deans and Associate Dean of our three Colleges. Following that, we’ll have a brief presentation on classroom expectations before you head off to start your day!
