About Edward

Why did you choose this program?

After graduating and transferring from Haskell Indian Nations University, I wanted to continue my education in a unique program that is literally sitting in the lap of five different tribes and Native communities.

How did this program prepare you for your job?

Working in Indian country is a roller coaster of highs and lows, so you are forced to adjust to adversity.

What did you enjoy most about the program?

Connecting to the local tribes, cultural advocacy, and educational programs are still my favorite experiences. I have lifelong friends that are the aunties and uncles to my children.

What would you say to prospective students who are thinking about applying to this program?

Map out your expectations and ideas of what this degree will do for you moving forward. You get out of it what you put into it, so if there is something missing or some aspect of your experience that you're not having, and you might have to put in extra work to make it a reality.

If you think this is just an easy degree to get out of college, then you're cheating yourself.
