About Gina

Why did you choose this program?

I chose the HSU Dance program for its variety of dance styles, its emphasis in performance and choreography, and the location and community found in Humboldt County.

How did this program prepare you for your job?

My Dance Studies degree gave me a solid technical foundation in Ballet, Jazz, and Modern, as well as training and experience in choreography and performance production—all of which I use in my dance career.

What did you enjoy most about the program?

I absolutely loved the teaching faculty and the caliber of dance technique classes they offered.

What would you say to prospective students who are thinking about applying to this program?

The HSU Dance program is small enough to give each student excellent opportunities, and the Humboldt dance community is big enough to give students and graduates alike creative space and employment options. It is an intimate program in a beautiful place!
