About Madi

Why did you choose this program?

I chose Environmental Studies because I wanted to be challenged to think critically about the environmental issues that shape the present moments and the futures for us. Environmental Studies students go on to do jobs that reshape our future in exciting and widely varying ways—through ecological restoration, nonprofit work, farming, community organizing, writing, and more. This versatility was another huge reason I chose the program; I like knowing that I have a set of skills that can be utilized in different fields.

How did this program prepare you for your job?

This program taught me to be a better thinker and writer. My classes challenged me in ways that prepared me for grad school, and my research interests are largely influenced by the course material and the conversations I had with peers.

What did you enjoy most about the program?

I love that Environmental Studies produces a learning community.

What would you say to prospective students who are thinking about applying to this program?

That you should!
