Why did you choose this program?
I chose the interdisciplinary dance program because the professors had a diverse knowledge of the performing arts industry.
How did this program prepare you for your job?
Not only did this program prepared me for the dance industry, I gained the leadership skills to inspire a large group in my current position and make a difference in my community.
What did you enjoy most about the program?
I enjoyed all of the "breakthrough" and "light bulb" moments because I was able to apply each dance lesson into my everyday life. I was able to connect with people in the Humboldt community and outside of Humboldt County through dance. My highlight during my time spent in the program was connecting my knowledge of early childhood education and molecular biology with dance.
What would you say to prospective students who are thinking about applying to this program?
The interdisciplinary Dance program really dives into the practice, cares about your individual growth, and challenges your ideas to be pushed further. The program has many opportunities for individuals to connect with the Humboldt dance community and will continue their relationship with you after graduation.
