Morgan King
Lecturer - Climate & Sustainability
I facilitate climate action and resiliency planning on behalf of Cal Poly Humboldt, advise students, and further the infusion of sustainability into campus operations and academics. I am the chair of the Sustainable Transportation Committee and a co-chair of the Humboldt Advisory Committee on Sustainability, the staff advisor for the Waste Reduction & Resource Awareness Program and the Bicycle Learning Center, and an instructor in the Department of Environmental Science & Management.
I have over 20 years of experience working in sustainability, environmental education, and green workforce development, having managed student-driven energy efficiency education programs at California universities and public schools, developed high school-level sustainability curriculum and teacher trainings, coordinated gardening, waste reduction and environmental education programs for public schools, and taught a certified energy auditor training series. I'm a co-founder of Full Cycle Compost, a worker-owned, bicycle-powered community compost service, and a community volunteer, working with Surfrider Humboldt, Humboldt Trail Stewards, and other organizations, and was a Fisheries Extension Volunteer in Peace Corps Nepal. I'm an avid surfer, cyclist, and world traveler with my wife and daughter.
