Shortly after graduating, Colin Savage, Fisheries Biology, 2018, started working with Washington Fish and Wildlife as a hatchery specialist. During his senior year he worked in rearing many species of salmonids and White Sturgeon.

Keith Parker, 2015 Fisheries Biology, recently received a $15,000 Switzer Environmental Fellowship for the 2016-17 academic year. This award is given to individuals who demonstrate outstanding leadership and dedication to working in the environmental field.

Since graduating, Samuel has become a user experience designer at Infinity Ward, having worked on popular video game titles such as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II. He is earning a master's degree in Human Factors from Bentley University. Samuel has also taught UX courses at the University of Texas at Austin and the University of Central Florida. Samuel currently resides in Austin, Texas.

Brian Galvez, Fisheries Biology, 2014, graduated from Delaware State University with a M.S. in Natural Resources with a focus on Fisheries Biology. His thesis was titled "Trophic ecology of juvenile Weakfish (Cynoscion regalis) from the Delaware Bay using stomach content and stable isotope analyses". He is currently writing a manuscript for publication in Transactions of the American Fisheries Society with the work presented in his thesis. He represented Humboldt State Fisheries Biology Department by having the best thesis defense in the Delaware State University Natural Resources Graduate Program according to multiple people, including a Delaware State fish biologist and the department chair of his program.

Dan Troxel

Dan Troxel is an Environmental Scientist for the California Department of Fish & Wildlife based in Arcata, CA, working in the Klamath and Trinity Rivers Program. In the face of Klamath basin dam removal efforts, adaptability is key, but generally speaking, he is responsible for recreational fishery surveys and quota management. He is the lead coordinator for mid-Klamath spawning grounds surveys and is the Salmon Report Card lead, amongst other things. Dan appreciates hiring Cal Poly Humboldt students to give them early career opportunities in fisheries and fieldwork.

Daniel Menten, 2006 Fisheries BIology, is an author and fisheries scientist. Menten recently published “The New School Guide to Northern California Whitewater,” which documents 135 river descriptions covering the Klamath Mountains Geologic Province.
