About Russell
Why did you choose this program?
I started off in Wildlife Biology, but quickly learned that I was much better at math and physics than chemistry and biology. I switched to ERE my second year and never looked back. Wildlife and the outdoors is still a passion, but I love helping people save energy and be more comfortable in their homes.
How did this program prepare you for your job?
It taught me how to learn. It taught me how much there was out there to learn. It helped develop my passion for environmental and sustainable issues. It gave me great hands-on experience at the waste water treatment plant (co-gen unit) and other facilities.
What did you enjoy most about the program?
The knowledge, friendliness and availability of the instructors. It wasn't until I spoke with other people from other schools that I realized that it's not common to know your professors on a first name basis. The location, of course.
What would you say to prospective students who are thinking about applying to this program?
If you really want to squeeze as much out of your education as you can, this is the place. If you really want to make a difference in the world, this is the place. The world needs more ERE grads. You can make a good living and make a difference.
I'm super proud of this program and I am constantly bragging about it to others.
