Create an integrated, accessible, and intuitive digital ecosystem so that students, faculty, and staff can easily engage in teaching, learning, research, and administrative activities with reliable, consistent, and easy-to-use technology experiences that support academic excellence and innovation.

Planning Classroom & Teaching Lab Simplification
Establish consistent, reliable, and accessible core technology across classrooms and teaching labs while accommodating specialized instructional and research needs. Partner with faculty to identify appropriate solutions that reduce unnecessary complexity without limiting the flexibility needed to support effective teaching and student learning. 

In Progress Engineering & Technology Building (E&T) Technology Enablement  
Design, implement, and support innovative teaching, learning, research, and collaboration technologies for the new Engineering & Technology Building. The initiative will create modern, flexible learning environments that showcase Cal Poly Humboldt's polytechnic vision, support emerging STEM programs, and provide students with hands-on experiences using industry-relevant technologies that prepare them for meaningful careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

In Progress Healthcare Education Hub Digital Collaboration & Access
Establish a seamless, secure digital experience for Cal Poly Humboldt and College of the Redwoods students, faculty, and staff participating in the Healthcare Education Hub by integrating identity and account access, wireless networking, scheduling, and collaboration services. The initiative will enable users to sign in using their home institution credentials, access core productivity platforms, connect through secure eduroam Wi-Fi, and utilize shared resources without duplicate accounts or unnecessary complexity, supporting an integrated learning environment across both institutions.

Planning Create a Student-Centered Portal Experience
Modernize the campus portal with a simplified, personalized experience that connects students (including those with multiple campus roles) to the information, services, and actions most relevant to them. Establish clear ownership and governance while retiring outdated functionality and simplifying the technology functionality and technical debt.

Strengthen the long-term health and capacity of ITS by assessing employee engagement, workforce needs, and organizational effectiveness. Use staff feedback and organizational analysis to support professional growth and career development, guide staffing and succession planning, strengthen cross-team collaboration, and foster a culture of continuous improvement to ensure ITS remains a sustainable, resilient, and future-ready organization.

Planning ITS Organizational Health & Workforce Planning
Develop a comprehensive understanding of the ITS workforce by assessing employee engagement, organizational capacity, and workforce development needs. Use staff feedback and organizational analysis to inform staffing strategies, professional development, succession planning, and organizational improvements that strengthen employee engagement and ensure ITS remains a sustainable, resilient, and future-ready organization.

Planning ITS Knowledge Management & Continuous Improvement
Evaluate whether AI tools already available to ITS can connect information across existing sources, helping employees find answers, preserve expertise, reduce duplicated effort, and provide more consistent support. The initial proof of concept will assess usefulness, security, accuracy, and ongoing support needs and recommend whether ITS should pursue a future implementation that could eventually benefit other university departments.

Responsibly leverage data, analytics, automation, and emerging technologies such as AI to reduce administrative workload, streamline routine processes, and improve access to timely information. These capabilities will support, not replace, human expertise and decision-making, allowing faculty and staff to devote more time to teaching, student support, research, and other high-value work while improving institutional effectiveness.

In Progress AI Service Enablement & Governance
Establish a dedicated AI services function to coordinate university AI technologies, manage AI platforms, lead the ITS AI Working Group, maintain the university's catalog of university-supported AI tools and services, provide training and consultations, support onboarding, and promote the responsible adoption of AI across the campus community.

In Progress HR & Payroll SmartSupport  
Leverage AI tools to automate routine HR activities, support compliance, assist with hiring, and improve self-service, resulting in more efficient operations and better customer service.

In Progress Policy Management Modernization
Modernize the University Senate policy repository to streamline policy publishing and governance while improving accessibility, search, and discoverability of institutional policies for the campus community.

Advance a proactive, risk-based, balanced approach to cybersecurity, privacy, and continuity so that institutional data and operations are protected against evolving threats, while empowering academic, research, and administrative innovation through a culture of shared responsibility and collaboration.

In Progress Cybersecurity & Resilience Enhancement Program
Address Chancellor's Office security audit findings by strengthening cybersecurity safeguards, improving compliance, enhancing security monitoring and response, and increasing the resilience of university technology services. The initiative will reduce institutional risk while establishing a stronger foundation for secure teaching, learning, research, and administrative operations.

Planning CSU Cyber Fusion Center (CFC) Integration
Align Cal Poly Humboldt with the CSU Cyber Fusion Center by implementing shared security monitoring, threat intelligence, incident coordination, and systemwide cybersecurity practices. The initiative will improve threat detection, incident response, and institutional resilience while maintaining local operational ownership and decision-making.

Reduce complexity and reliance on outdated and/or difficult-to-maintain technology by consolidating systems, standardizing platforms where appropriate, and leveraging CSU systemwide solutions so the campus benefits from more reliable, cost-effective, scalable, and easier-to-use technology services.

In Progress CHRS (Common Human Resources System) – Wave 6 Campus
Complete the CSU Common Human Resources System (CHRS) implementation. The Common Human Resources System (CHRS) is a project to move all 22 campuses in the CSU system to a single, standard HR platform. The system will have standardized data and common business practices to improve HR operations, reduce reliance on outdated technology, and position the university to leverage future CSU enhancements and ongoing support. 

In Progress Enterprise Data Transformation (EDT) Project
To support a data-informed decision-making culture, the EDT project will modernize how University data is connected and made available for reporting and decision-making. The project will replace multiple aging data systems with a more reliable and sustainable shared data environment, making trustworthy information more readily available to support student success. The EDT project is in its final phase, January 2026 to June 2028.

In Progress Campus Card, Payment & Access System Replacement
Replace the end-of-life campus commerce system with a modern cloud-hosted platform that improves reliability, simplifies administration, enhances integrations, and delivers a better experience for students and staff.

In Progress Campus Device Management Modernization
Modernize how university-owned Windows and Android devices are set up, secured, updated, and supported. The initiative will transition campus device management from older locally hosted tools to a cloud-based platform (including Microsoft Intune and Windows Autopilot), providing more consistent computer setup, improved security, easier remote management, and a more efficient support experience for students, faculty, and staff.

In Progress EAB Navigate360
EAB Navigate360 is the CSU Chancellor's Office's student success and advising platform. As part of the CSU Student Success Framework, Cal Poly Humboldt is implementing Navigate360 to replace the Slate Advising Hub with an integrated solution for student communications, appointment scheduling, coordinated care, and proactive advising. The platform streamlines advisor workflows while providing students with a more intuitive and connected advising experience.

Planning Modernize Identity Management (IDM)
Modernize the systems that manage University accounts and access, improving how accounts are created, changed, secured, and deactivated while reducing reliance on outdated technology and improving account lifecycle management and governance.

Planning Cal State Compute Alignment
Align Cal Poly Humboldt with the CSU Cal State Compute initiative by evaluating and implementing systemwide Systemwide computing infrastructure, cloud services, and data center strategies that modernize infrastructure, reduce outdated technology, optimize costs, improve scalability, and position the campus to leverage future CSU shared services and cloud capabilities.
