The Humboldt County Department of Health & Human Services sent the following message

Information to message to clients during the federal government Rev. Oct. 21, 2025 shutdown California received notice from the federal government that it intends to disrupt November CalFresh benefits if the federal shutdown continues. Millions of  Californians receiving CalFresh benefits may be impacted. CalFresh benefits are funded for the month of October. However, if the federal government shutdown continues past Oct. 23, 2025, November CalFresh benefits may be delayed. You can keep using your existing CalFresh benefits as usual. No action on your part is required. We understand this is a difficult situation and will share more information about your November CalFresh benefits as soon as possible. However, the federal government has not approved us to provide you benefits during this time. Information with “Humboldt County food-related resources” can be found on DHHS’s website: HumboldtGov.org/DocumentCenter/View/143301. For more information on CalFresh benefits and impacts from the federal shutdown, you may also visit the California Department of Social Services website at cdss.ca.gov. You can check your balance in the ebtEDGE app or by calling the number on the back of your EBT card. At this time, CalWORKs benefits for the month of November 2025 are not impacted.
