Welcome Parents and Families!
We understand that the transition to college is a significant milestone not just for students but also for their families. From orientation schedules and campus resources to tips on fostering independence, the goal is to ensure you have all the information you need to feel confident and connected as your student begins their Humboldt journey.
Learn more about the next steps for your students and how you can help along the way by joining one of the "Next Steps" Webinars held over the summer. The webinars are typically held in June, July and August, and email invites will be sent out to students.

During the webinars, you will discover how to assist your students as they embark on their new journey and have an opportunity to ask any questions you may have. The webinars will specifically cover:
- Communication and Parental Involvement - Guidelines on how parents can stay informed and involved through Forever Humboldt Families.
- Academic Advising - Humboldt’s advising system, academic requirements, course planning strategies, and important class registration information.
- Paying for College - Understand tuition and registration fees, viewing your student account types of financial aid, cost of attendance, and ways to cover costs.
- Student Life - Recognize how your student can get involved and make their Humboldt experience inside and outside the classroom.
- Health and Wellness- Information on campus health services, counseling, and mental health resources.
- Campus Safety - Available safety resources designed to empower your student and support smart choices on their path towards success.
- Orientation Information - Find out more information about the in-person Orientation taking place the week of August 19th.

Celebrate the start of your student’s journey after move-in with a relaxed afternoon of great food, music, and community. Connect with other families, meet campus staff, and enjoy a taste of Humboldt hospitality. All are welcome!

Forever Humboldt Student Send Off Picnics
Join the Forever Humboldt Student Send Off picnic in an area near you! Forever Humboldt Student Send Offs are fun picnic gatherings in various cities across California to welcome new incoming Cal Poly Humboldt students.
These picnics are opportunities for incoming students and their families to meet other Forever Humboldt alumni members, incoming students, and families. This is an event where alumni can congratulate incoming students, share their stories about Humboldt, and give tips on what to expect as a new Humboldt student!
The picnic is FREE for new incoming Cal Poly Humboldt students. A box meal will be served and there will be free raffle prizes for attendees. Students will also get a special gift. All guests and alumni attendees can join in the fun for a $15 fee - registration required.
