Fall 2026 Orientation 

Orientation for Transfer Students includes an optional welcome dinner on Wednesday, August 19th, 2026, a (mandatory) full-day orientation on Thursday, and more events on Friday and Saturday to help you get connected to your new campus community!

The schedule details are subject to change. Printed schedules will be available at Orientation Check-in.

Our orientation is designed to welcome you to campus and help support your transition to Cal Poly Humboldt. You'll have an opportunity to connect with faculty and students before school starts, and learn about resources to support you at Cal Poly Humboldt.

Fall 2026 New Student Registration Tutorial 

All students must complete the New Student Registration Tutorial to be eligible to register for classes. You’ll learn about your degree requirements, how to use campus technology, and how to choose and register for classes.

Come celebrate Obon with us! Obon is a Japanese Buddhist custom to honor the spirits of one’s ancestors. We celebrate our Obon Festival in Humboldt style with a Buddhist blessing, Obon dancing, Humboldt Taiko performances, our ancestors’ tree, kids games, Asian food vendors, artists, and so much more.

We will walk students over to the Arcata Farmers Market to show everyone how to safely get there. It is a very easy route and we will walk at a slower pace for everyone, to show them where the Arcata Farmers Market is and even talk about the local spots we pass. Even if you have been to the Farmers Market, please join us and make some new friends!

Open Boathouse Tour (Optional)

Check out the Humboldt Bay Aquatic Center (HBAC), meet the rowing teams, go kayaking, and learn to use the rowing machine! You’ll also learn about the wide array of outdoor activities we offer at deeply discounted rates for Cal Poly Humboldt students—from coastal hikes and backpacking trips to paddle tours and skill workshops.

A bus will bring students from campus at Harry Griffith Hall (HGH) to HBAC every 30 minutes starting at 10 a.m. or you can meet at HBAC.
