Osprey Magazine Production Workshop JMC 325 is now open to all students from across the university.* This is a two-unit CR/NC course that meets in Gist 215 on Tuesday/Thursday from 1:00-2:50pm. To enroll in JMC 325, contact the magazine’s faculty advisor, Jessie Cretser-Hartenstein jmc70@humboldt.edu, for a permission number to add the course.
*Prerequisites will be waived for students outside of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication.
3) Stanford GSB PhD and Research Fellows Applications open Sept. 1
The Stanford GSB Research Fellows Program is a two-year, fully-funded predoctoral program that provides a diverse set of fellows with the opportunity to gain research experience and preparation for doctoral studies in business or related fields, including economics, computer science, mathematics, political science, psychology, and more.
The Stanford GSB PhD Program is an academic research-based program intended for individuals interested in pursuing careers in research and academia. Our students come from a variety of academic backgrounds such as economics, sociology, engineering, math, psychology, and more. Learn more about our seven fields of study, admissions requirements, and our fully-funded financial aid package.
Both applications will open on September 1. The PhD application is due by December 1, 2022. For full consideration to the Research Fellows Program, the application is due by October 14, 2022, with rolling admissions until March 1, 2023. 4) Student Leadership Institute, Sept. 12The Campaign for College Opportunity advocates for access to a college education for all students in California. Their work has a significant impact on higher education policy in the state. The Student Leadership Institute (SLI) is now accepting applications for the 2022-23 cohort! SLI is a paid opportunity that offers leadership and skills-building training to empower participants to engage in the higher education policy process, network with professionals, and advocate for critical higher education issues that directly impact them. Through training and advocacy sessions, student leaders are equipped with information and tools to be agents of social change within their own college campuses. Find out more and apply here. The American Political Science Association (APSA) invites you to participate in our Virtual Graduate School Information Fair. The fair will be held on Saturday, September 17 from 12-4 pm Eastern Time and seeks to connect PhD programs with individuals searching for graduate programs in political science. Using Zoom breakout rooms, you’ll be able to meet with departments in 20 minute sessions.
