Library of Things: Existing Campus Resources

Welcome to the Library of Things resource guide hosted by the Sustainable Humboldt Innovative Futures Trust (SHIFT). 

Overview

The Library of Things (LoTs) at Cal Poly Humboldt explores how to share information witt\h students about  accessing tools, equipment, and everyday items that are often too expensive or impractical to own individually. By promoting shared use, reuse, and repair, LoTs intends to reduce waste and support a more sustainable, circular economy. In order to figure out how to best implement this project, the SHIFT Committee funded a student research position for Spring and Summer 26. They helped explore existing campus lending and give-away resources through various existing campus organizations that can help students navigate location of items they might want or need to borrow / use.
