The Social Justice, Equity & Inclusion Center (SJEIC) is open. Come visit our center and see what we have to offer.

Who Are We?

The SJEIC is a student-centered organization that creates brave and inclusive spaces to engage, learn, build community, and share/access resources. We represent the 3rd pillar of the Office of Student Life.

We were created out of student demand for a place to create community on campus, which is why we prioritize the creation of events, workshops, and activities that directly impact and support our students.

Our Function

The Social Justice, Equity & Inclusion Center is an inclusive learning community that supports students in academic, career, personal, and community development at Cal Poly Humboldt.

We are guided by the 5 E's:

•Explore identity and history.

•Experience cultures and traditions.

•Express ideas and observations.

•Engage to build sustainable community.

•Empower for advocacy and positive change.

Academic Internships

Need a credit or 2 in your major? The SJEIC has internship opportunities in majors such as Journalism, Ethnic Studies, Women’s Studies, Government & Politics, and more. Discuss a possible internship with your advisors or department chairs, then contact the SJEIC Coordinator for more information.

Donate

Why donate?

The Center's role and function within Cal Poly Humboldt thrives on the active support and partnership of our community. Donations to the SJEIC go toward supporting in-house resources for students, costs associated with keynote speaker packages (fees, travel, lodging), and providing free and accessible social justice programming that accommodates dynamic community needs.

Ways to support:
