One of the 1st settlers in Willow Creek was James Kidd who filed a mining claim in 1858. Frank martin was their in the early 1860's near the present 299 bridge and his son John till lives there. When the new highway was completed in 1920 the town started at "The Forks", @ 299 & 96.
