The are about 200 commercial fisherman at this time. The most profitable season ever experienced ended today, 2 months earlier than usual because the fisherman refused to accept a 2 cent cut in the price paid for silver salmon by the local companies that purchase salmon. About 30 men are employed by the those companies & they were laid off last night. There are about 100 fishing boats in the harbor now and they will leave.
