Arcata Community Forest

The 600-acre Arcata Community Forest will be dedicated this coming Thursday the 19th at 1:30 pm. This forest, set aside by the Arcata City Council on Dec. 16, 1954, is the first municipally owned forest in the state of California. The Council appointed a 3 man commission to manage the forest.
