Text: Arcata is completing construction of new additions to its existing $100,000 sewage treatment plant. Its adding $366,000 worth of items including a digester, clarifier, head works, buildings, and a 56 acre oxidation pond. The city is also adding two wells located on Mad River, each 30' feet deep. The 24' feet diameter caissons have laterals in the gravel to bring in 1,200 gpm. 31 new homes have been started by Eckardt Construction in Curtis Heights which contains 10 acres of property originally divided by the late Ralph Bull. The architect that designed the homes is Richard Leitch of Pasadena.
