Text: "County Planning Body Files Annual Report". In 1929, the state legislature passed the Planning Act-Chapter 838, 1929 Statutes of California. The act regulated all counties to have a planning commission of nine members, six of which were to be appointed by the Chairman of the Board of Supervisors and the ex-official members. The Planning Commission is to develop a master plan for the physical and economic development of the County and to assist in an advisory capacity to the Board of Supervisors.
