Text: "Old Timer! Do You Remember When…" History of Ricks Water Co. The pumping station was a mile from Elk River Corners. All the buildings at that spot burned in a fire. Last week workman took the old concrete smokestack down; it was built in 1900 or 1901. Jack Griffiths, Superintendent of Public Works, built the stack. The stack was the brainchild of H.L. Ricks.
