Text: Article on lumbering in Hum. Co. There are 156 mills operating. They range from a 2-man operation to the giant PL Co. 12 more are under constr. or in the blueprint stage. There are 27 logging contractors and 14 shingle and shake mills. In August 1946 there were 1725 carloads of lumber shipped out on NWP RR. There are 6000 men employed in the lumber industry in Hum. Co. The article contains a list of all the mills.
