Text: The BOS met with airport design consultant Horton Whipple to discuss plans for 3 airports: Eureka, Garberville, and Rohnerville. The Eureka field will be developed to provide a 2500' foot runway, 500' feet wide, and the tip will be 700' feet or more from 101. The runway at Garberville will be lengthened. The BOS also accepted a grant from the CAA of $3,550 to extend the runway at Rohnerville by 400' feet to make it 4000' feet long. On Sept 2th the BOS plans to appoint George Winzler as the County Road Commissioner. Winzler is currently the City Engineer of Eureka.
