Text: The B.O.S. will receive bids for the construction of 5.5 miles of new road on the east side of the Eel from Scotia to Camp 5. The idea is to build a better road than the one from Rio Dell to Camp 5 on the west bank of the Eel. This one is annually subject to slides and washouts and is so rough that although travelers between Rio Dell and Pepperwood do not have to ford the river anywhere, they do nevertheless cross it twice, one at Robinson's and again at Clarke's. The new road will shorten this distance by 2 miles. It will parallel the railroad and pass through logged-over land. One 160' foot bridge will be necessary to cross Stitz Creek.
