Item Type: Bridge damage

Place: Van Duzen River Weymouth Inn East Ferry Road

Text: Heavy rains took out the temporary bridge over the Van Duzen and low level bridge at East Ferry Road. The new 101 conceter bridge is under construction. So, with the only way out to the south was via the bridge at Weymouth Inn, the state highway officials obtained permission from the RR to plank the RR bridge to allow pedestrian traffic across the river. This serves the stages which take people to the bridge, then they walk across to a stage at the other end. The Van Duzen is currently 200' feet wide & banks full.
