Text: John M. Eddy and Martin White built the 1st sawmill in Eureka close under the bank between J & K streets. Part of the original Eddy home at 1519 2nd street still stands. Stafford Pine come to H.C. in 1874, and with A.W. Randall purchased the Eddy Tract, forming a subdivision & selling lots at the site.
