Text: Charles J. Kuhn recalled hunting deer & bear 25 years ago in eastern Humboldt County. Deer were so plentiful they shot them for meat to feed their dogs. They had to pack in with mules & ride horseback on a trail that led towards the Hoopa Reservation.
