Text: The City Council has asked the Civil Aeronautics Authority to turn over the Navy Blimp Base and Seaplane Base to the city. The CAA offered the facilities to Eureka w/o charge on the condition that they be used for public purposes. These facil. are not connected with the Navy section base which is located east of them. (?) They were built by the Navy at the start of the war and consist of concrete grounds and runways, admin. bldgs, 2 hangars and sewage service. The county B.O.S. recently released county rights to the bases and the city attorney drew up an agreement between the city and the authority.
