Text: The concrete in the new approaches to Fernbridge is still "curing". The recent storm rains slowed the drying of it so it can't be opened to light traffic before Dec. 1. The high waters on streams in the Mattole knocked out bridges. Thus, the farmers with many boxes of apples ready to ship, may suffer a total loss. In look down over the Eel flat from Bear River Ridge last Friday the valley appeared to be one body of water from Loleta to the ocean.
